art workshops on Sherkin Island
In conjunction with
The groups are deliberately kept very small, with a maximum of 8 people, to promote a more intimate group dynamic and allow for more extensive individual tuition as appropriate.
The weekend begins on Friday evening, when participants come together for supper at North Shore and get to know each other over the delicious food prepared by Kathy & Mike, our hosts. at North Shore. The work then begins on Saturday morning, after a fabulous breakfast, meeting in the workroom at about 9.45am. This course requires that some time each day is spent in the workroom, but we will also be working outside to gather materials for reference and make observational notes from the landscape and coastline.
The day will be punctuated by lunch and tea/coffee breaks, so there is no fear of anyone going hungry or thirsty. The ‘official’ working day usually ends at about 4pm, but everyone gathers later for pre-supper drinks, to reflect on the day, chat, look at art books and marvel at the stunning sunsets for which North Shore is so well-known.The weekend draws to a close on Monday afternoon.
Please note that guests often enjoy and are very welcome to arrive earlier or stay longer at North Shore, but this needs to be arranged directly with Kathy O’Connor. (email@example.com).
